lancashireAnn Report 17 Aug 2010 13:26

did not pick up John's baptism as Ellen is down as Helen

Baptism: 5 Jun 1819 Lower Chapel Independent, Over Darwen, Lancashire, England
John Shaw Entwistle - Son of Ralph Entwistle & Helen (formerly Shaw)
Born: 20 Feb 1819
Abode: Pickupbank Pickupbank Blackburn
Baptised by: R. Blake
Register: Baptisms 1815 - 1838, Page 41
Source: LDS Film 0560876

that would give age 20 on 1841 making NijaLady's even more likely

Ozibird

Ozibird Report 17 Aug 2010 09:05

There are so many Ralphs & so many Entwistle/Entwisle in Pole Lane alone that I think your Ralph probably has died. Ralph, of Ralph & Betty found 1841 & 1851, may be a cousin or some such relative.

Ozi.

flocker Report 17 Aug 2010 06:10

Yes it does. Perhaps Ralph remarried before the 1841 cen & not died? And goingback to the 1841 census it probably is the correct family & includes Arthur the fifth son. thanks

Ozibird Report 16 Aug 2010 23:01

lancashireAnn

lancashireAnn Report 16 Aug 2010 22:52

don't forget that ages were rounded down for people over age 15 in 1841 so 2 people born 3 years apart would show as the same age

it was actually on GR I did a search for a Ralph in 1841which is probably the one Ozibird found

flocker

flocker Report 16 Aug 2010 22:46

Iv`ve been told that Ellen was on the 1841 census with five of her 6 boys. And so possibly Ralph had died before then.

flocker

flocker Report 16 Aug 2010 22:42

I think Ralph had died before 1841. I dont think its the correct family in 1841 census. Different dob,s & ages

Not sure but it could be them. Roberts & John look to be twins but could that be Johns dob & not Roberts? Robert i have dob as 1817.

That's the trouble Ninja Lady - the name Entwistle seems to be more common than Jones

I found a Ralph b c 1792 but I can't look at the details. Can you find that one?

lancashireAnn Report 15 Aug 2010 18:09

do you have names for the other sons please?

looking at lan-opc there are many Ellen Entwistles. There are baptisms at Lower Darwen for children of Ellen (formerly Fish) Ellen formerly Cooper, Ellen formerly Holden - and those were just the ones I looked at!

also remembering that ages in the 1841 were not exact as they were rounded down to the nearest 5
