Tenerife Sun
Hope is son John's middle name not his surname.
He was born John Hope Breeze before Emily married.

Births Sep 1873

Breeze John Hope - Atcham 6a 680

Similarly
As I can't see a birth for a William F Dransfield, Perhaps William was born Fretwell and his mother then married Dransfield after his birth

Just possible ...

Marriages Mar 1859

Beaumont Isaac Wortley 9c 201
.........Dransfield John Wortley 9c 201
........Fretwell Sarah Wortley 9c 201
Gascoigne Hannah Wortley 9c 201

I am guessing you are fairly new to the workings of this site. You have two othe threads about this family and much of the work has been duplicated. You will get better results if you stick to the same thread so everyone has a fuller picture.

An ancestor who had an illegitimate child used the father's surname as the child's second christian name, but the birth was registered in the mother's maiden name

Thank you for your help.Could you please go a step further and explain the whole set up on threads. As you can tell all this is new to me and so is the computer. If i am looking for information like yesterday do you go on Trying To Find. What would you use the History thread for.If i get information do i reply where it says add at the bottom of message. If someone says use threads to reply what do i do and what is the difference. If i want to thank everybody what then?

jax Report 2 Jun 2010 17:53

Trying to find or records is normally the best ones to use...but you should not have more than one for each family as the infomation gets repeated.
You can bring up one of your old threads and just add details to it

Lexie

Lexie Report 2 Jun 2010 19:02

still dont know if i reply by this but thank you

jax Report 2 Jun 2010 19:11

Yes you are replying in the right place..its the fact you have two other threads on this family aswell, all repeating some of the same infomation

The add button only started to work recently and sometimes affects the flow of the thread and posts are missed.

You can thank people on your thread because once someone has posted on your thread and someone else replies it will bump that thread to the top of ther thread list too.

If you go scroll down the side of this page it says my threads. Click on it and you will see a list of all your threads that you have created and added too. Experiment a little and you will see what I mean. There are a number of threads with tips on how best to research and use these boards.
Read a few.

It is not your fault that GR do not explain things properly. Please do not feel that people are cross with you. We just want you to get the best use of the boards.

thank you hope to do better in the future.Dont mind a constructive comment but if its not explained where you are going wrong then you are no better off.

Yes, the add button is for adding a reply on the thread for all to see.
This is always better than clicking on an individual name which only sends your message to that one person. (the exception being if the info is about living persons)
Any addition to a thread will automatically bump it up to the top of the board.
