Find Ancestors

Hi, I am trying to find the family of an Elizabeth Trivett who married an Albert Simmons in sept 1926. I do have a copy of her marriage cert. and on it it says that she was a widow age 31 when they married and her fathers name was Thomas Samuel Peters. So I am guessing that her maiden name was Peters, though I have tried searching for a birth I have come up with nothing I have also looked on 1901 census and come up with nothing. The areas that she may have been born/living are Lewisham, Woolwich and steyning.

Please can anyone help?
Any info would be much appreciated.

And was her father dead or alive when she married, and occupation?

Hi Patricia, No I'm sorry I dont know when she died. It doesnt say on marriage cert. father deceased it says he was a general labourer. Elizabeth and Albert lived in Eltham when they got married.

That is possible but not sure about it. Thank you though. I think what I need to find is a birth for her and work my way around that, perhapes get hold of her Birth Cert.

I'm thinking this is Thomas's marriage but there's a spouse missing from the index.

As daughter Elizabeth was born about the same time it may be that she was born in her mother's name.

The cert would give you the mother's maiden name which could be the name that Elizabeth was registered under.

If the marriage in 1895 is the correct marriage, then the 1901 and 1911 census entries are wrong, as they were married in 1886 - I did say it was a long shot.

Hi Patricia, Elizabeth Had children that I know of from the 2nd marriage to Albert James John Simmons. one is my mother in law Joan Gladys Simmons 1930(this is a mystery at the mo as cant find her birth) a Florence G Simmons 1929
and twins peter J Simmons and Patricia E Simmons 1928. There maye more.
What I would like to find is Elizabeths 1st marriage to a Trivett. As for a middle name I dont know.

In the instance of finding Thomas's marriage there were only 3 names showing ( there should be an even number) so the other two may have been one couple marrying each other, which leaves Thomas's spouse unrecorded on the index.
