Find Ancestors

I live in Australia and am trying to trace any details including date of birth etc for my great great grandfather Daniel Whayman. I know he was a Sargent in the Royal Horse Artillery and I have his death listed in an old family bible as being 6th September 1874, although I can find no trace of his death anywhere. Any help would be dearly appreciated. I am at a loss at to what to do next.

Hi Everyone!!!! And a huge thank you to you all!!!! Because of the time difference here in Oz and me working I haven't got back on this site til now and I am sooooo happy!!!! You guys have found (I am pretty sure) Daniel's death in India and possibly another child of his.

How can I get a copy of his death certificate??? Or find out his actual date of birth and where born??? There are soo many conflicting years etc.

This is the same family Jane (the mother ) is living with her daughter now. No sign of Daniel.
Just clutching at straws... he joined up then ... married Eliza while in Ireland ( as she hails from Dublin) and the rest as you say is history !!!!
