As they seem to have had trouble with Ivanhoe's name in the marriage record, I'm wondering if this is his birth:-

Births Jun 1881 (>99%)
HALLAM Ivy Sheffield 9c 418

....then again, maybe not????

EDIT:-
Found this one in 1901 census:-
Ivy Hallam abt 1881 Sheffield, Yorkshire, England Boarder Sheffield, Yorkshire

....so you can eliminate this one!

More children Hallam - Bycroft born after 1911:-

Births Dec 1912 (>99%)
Hallam Florence Bycroft Sheffield 9c 982
Births Dec 1914 (>99%)
HALLAM Winifred Bycroft Sheffield 9c 980
Births Mar 1916 (>99%)
Hallam Samuel Bycroft Sheffield 9c 911
Births Dec 1917 (>99%)
Hallam Elsie Bycroft Sheffield 9c 803

so possible children of Ivanhoe and Annie?

The births I found are from freebmd.org which is a very reliable site, but you must not forget that these records are taken from the date of registration which could be up to two or three months after the actual birth. (can't remember exactly how long people had to register a birth at this time)

so ben married a florence...hence daughters name but eliza still isnt there??? im really starting to think alot of my unces info is wrong as there is no harry or annie as children unless john was possibly married before x

Catherine

Catherine Report 8 Jun 2010 23:43

By 1901 Eliza would have been 19yrs old, so she could either be married or, as often happened in those days, she could be in service.

o i see could explain it then wats the best way to look for her marriage then x

Remember, the spelling of a name is only as good as the person recording it at the time and then later the transcriber who copies it for the records.
