I searched for a marriage in other names, mistranscriptions, using no surnames, the lot, and had no luck. It is possible that there has been a slip-up sending it to the GRO. Perhaps you need to check parish records.

As for finding her in 1841, there just doesn't seem a Mary to fit the info you have.

thanks everyone for trying to help! As Frederick and Mary appear to have their first child in 1845......Mary being born 1826 ......it makes me wonder if she was married before as she would have been really young...............thst does look like her baptism as all census have her being born Marylebone

Ive just searched keeping in mind that Mary Ann Gray may have been married before Fred

Also that her mother may have remarried and Mary Ann may have taken her step fathers name

Conclusion......zilch

I would say that Mary and Fred lived over the brush!

I cant read it very well I think it just says Trade?

Unless she was married before Frederick?

I now have a birth cert for his daughter. It does states her parents as Frederick Lewis Groves and Mary Ann Groves formerly Gray..............so can anyone help me find their marriage

It looks to me like they never married.

As Ozi says you will need a copy of one of the childrens birth to find out who his common law wife was
