Wow! What can I say Dee...could never of imagined you could dig up so much. I knew Florence Hilda married Fred Atkins but knew nothing more than that...
So much to go through...so exciting...so stuck for words.
Thank you so so much

Would it be possible to check when Rueben and his family left Australia for New York? I seems odd travelling that route to come back to England.
Also, is there any sign of the origional journey out which would of been c. 1890
Thx, Jamie

I've been scratching around on the Canadian side and cant find any registration of William Wass death anywhere.
Also, I found that he joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Jan. 10, 1916. 119th Overseas Battalion. Can anyone tell me how I could find out more about where he may of served?

Hi Jamie,

just a snippet of info;

"The 119th (Algoma) Battalion, CEF was a unit in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. Based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, the unit began recruiting in late 1915 in the Algoma district and on Manitoulin Island. After sailing to England in August 1916, the battalion was absorbed into the 8th Reserve Battalion on April 16, 1918. The 119th (Algoma) Battalion, CEF had one Officer Commanding: Lieut-Col."

This is from Wikipedia and there is a photo on there so William would most likely be on it!!!
