I am still having no luck with that 1861 for Annie...i wonder she was in an area of the missing census records for 1861? Some parts are damaged and maybe we are not finding her for that reason? There is also the possibility she was left off?
I am still looking though, but with all these different surnames and variations it is very tricky.

Thanks Michelle,

Yes - he married in Hackney as 'Thomas' !!

I wish they would use their 'proper' names.

However, this doesn't help find Annie + others on 1861.

Help anyone please.

No i haven't found her either, i wonder if she was left off the George and Harriet one? This did happen.
I will look again tonight. The son Wilson Thomas married to a lady called Frances and is seen in later census records.
I wonder if Harriet left Wilson Thomas Senior to live with George?Maybe pregnant with Wilson's son? Who then took over care for him. It is also possible that Wilson had this son with another woman who may have died? Wilson died 1879 so is not on the 1881. I cannot see him on the 1861 at present either.
Good luck!
Be back later

I have been looking at that 1871 you posted Michelle and I am sure you are right.

Interestingly, I think this birth relates to the son Thomas who he has with him.

Births Mar 1862

TATTERSALL Wilson Thomas Shoreditch 1c 132

It wish I could see who the mother was - was it Harriet, who was now living with George?

We need to find Annie in 1861 to see where she was - she was not with her mother, if we have the correct George + Harriet there?

I have been searching but I haven't found her as yet.

I think the first thing we need to find is the death of Wilson/William Tattersall !!!

Nice to see you as this is very complicated.

He is certainly the 'stepfather'

Dea x

EDIT:

Well, having said that, it depends upon when Wilson/William died !!

Potty - I am sure the 1871 you posted is the right one but I can't equate it to the 1881.

Dea x

Dea

Dea Report 3 Jul 2010 17:31

That's why I had put them 'to one side' Potty' - they didn't 'feel' quite right??

The 'Sawyer' bit fits but not the goldsmith !

Going to have some food and come back to it !!

Potty

Potty Report 3 Jul 2010 17:26

Actually, Dea, I now don't think that is them in 1881! 1871 George is a Steam Sawyer and that the George in that 1881 is a goldsmith. Quite a change of occupation! Although the Birchalls seem to be in the jewellery trade.

Dea

Dea Report 3 Jul 2010 17:17

Yeah, I have them too Potty but we need to trace her with Wilson/William!

I think I might need a little sleep here!

Harriet is in the 1871 census that I posted on page one, living as "wife" with George Hubball; they are also on the 1881 as Hubbard:

It's the 1861 where Annie should be with Harriet and possibly William (Wilson?) Tattersall that I just can't find!

Edit: I don't think
