Thanks Astra,
Well the date of death in Australia is interesting as it makes him about 52 when he died....this would seem to be the case with all his brothers who died in their 50s of heart conditions.
My mother is the only surviving Reed I know and she lost touch with that side of the family many years ago...its frustrating but small steps i guess, thanks for the info...it all helps and i/m very grateful

Thanks for all of the help on the thread, as I mentioned I/m struggling a bit and have as a goal to try and find a living relative.
After the 1911 census 4 more children were born. Amongst them, the last and youngest one, my Grandfather Ken. There was a brother (not mentioned because not born at the time) Stuart, according to form he served with some distinction during WW2. Again, nothing more is known other than after the war he became a teacher teaching children with downs syndrome and lived a very quiet and reserved life.

There is a Stuart C Reed MMn Smith born in Bristol in 1916. Did the family moved back to Bristol as I note that Thomas Frank married there?

Yes they did. My Grandfather Kenneth, who was the youngest was also born in Bristol. The family seemed to move around an awful lot which makes the task of tracking them down that much harder.
Funnily enough, the second world war saw Kenneth posted in the R.A.F back in Leicester of all places again, where he met my Grandmother. They married and he died there in 1974.
As far as I am aware he was the only Reed that came back to Leicester. But ofc I"m not 100% sure on that
