Maybe Ione could give us a few dates, so we do not spend any more time guessing, as Cardiff, Festiniogg and Aberystwyth gives us a tour of Wales.
And no obvious Richard Morris Griffiths showing in 1911, as I had already looked.
Edith is a different Roberts daughter in 1911(as she and Sydney are living with her parents)

My maternal grandfather was Richard Morris Griffiths born 7.7.1876. he was one of about seven children, there was a Thomas, Charles and Selina I know of. Born in Merthyr, he became a Butcher

My paternal grandfather was Brynley Thomas Roberts, born 12.11.1872 in Monmouthshire. He became a Baptist Minister and eventuallyMayor of Cowbridge. His Father was Robert Roberts who at one time was the youngest station master in the country at Abercarn Station in Monmouthshire.

hi sylvia, this is Ione Holbourne. I am Robert Roberts great granddaughter. My grandfather was Brynley Thomas Roberts his son, who became a Teacher. a Baptist Minister and eventually Mayor of Cowbridge in Glamorgan. His son John Victor Raymond Roberts was my Father. Are we related

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 20 Jul 2010 18:22

No, Ione

we are not related.

I am one of the many GR members who help other members by finding information

We call ourselves the helpers

we almost all have the Standard membership in GR, plus subscriptions to other sites ..... and enjoy looking up things, finding facts, and helping

it isn't GR that does the searching on thse boards, it's other members!

Now that we have cleared that up

can you please tell us if ANYTHING that we found the other night is helpful, or belongs to your family

we were searching under a handicap in that you said Richard Morris Griffiths was the son of Robert Roberts ..... which was not the case.

are you now looking for Richard Morris Griffiths ONLY, or what??

Hi Sylvia, I'm afraid I have confused everyone by getting grandfathers mixed up. My paternal grandfather was Brynley Thomas Roberts, my maternal grandfather was Richard Morris Griffiths. Because he was married to a Mary Jane Roberts, no relation to Brynley, andmy mother who was a Griffiths married John Victor Raymond Roberts who was Rober tRoberts Grandson, and I wasn'twell when I posted it all, I have confused everyone. My deepest apologies.

Thank you very much for clearing up my Gt. Grandfather's details. I am very grateful.

I have a Richard Morris Griffiths born 1873 Llanrwst Denbighshire, he married 1900 Alsager, Cheshire, Sarah Ann Dale born 08/11/1878 Alsager Cheshire. They definitely had 5 children all born at Crewe, Cheshire: Walter Morris Griffiths20/12/1900-1975, Stanley Llewellyn Griffiths 29/04/1902-1978, Clarence Griffiths 03/07/1904-1990, Vera Griffiths 1908, Eric Thomas 1910-1928. There are possibly 4 other children Cyril J Griffiths 1918 Cheshire, Reginald V. K. Griffiths 1919 Cheshire, Kenneth Griffiths 1922 Cheshire and Hermione Griffiths 1924 Cheshire. Richard Morris Griffiths died 1951 Cheshire and his wife died in 1957 Cheshire. It is possible that Richard Morris Griffith's father was Robert D Griffiths and his wife was Harriet. Richard was a railway engine fireman. Sarah Ann Dale's parents were Thomas Dale and Margaret Hollinshead.
