HI is it possible to access WW2 canadian records?? I'm looking for IVOR HALL b?? possible british colombia canada. He came to the UK during WW2 as a soldier, i believe his father was charles HALL b1876 london UK i am desperately trying to piece this side of the family together. it is a long and complicated story but Charles was in the West London district school (basically an orphanage) on the 1881 census with his siblings and then disappears, it is believe he was sent on a boat to canada to be 'trained' as an apprentice type of thing?? Ivor visited family members in the UK during WW2 but after the war he never got in touch after that (he may have been killed??) I have no DOB for Ivor or any knowledge of what happened to charles?? i know this is a long shot but anything is very gratefully appreciated!!

I wonder why charles gives 3 different immigration dates?? 1890, 1886, 1887?? any of these would fit for me! as he disappears after 1881 and is not on the 1891. Is their anyway of finding out when he went over? his brother Robert bc1874 also disappears at the same time and may well have gone as well?? now we have a DOB for Ivor is their a way to confirm he was in the canadian army?

is their a marriage for charles and viola? was she english or canadian? i don't know how comprehensive the census are??

wow what a lot of info!!
Yes i know who Charles parents were and i have their details etc. mum died and dad was in prison in the UK which is why the children were in an 'orphanage' and then split up, they didn't even know their real ages!! we had completely lost track of charles and his brother and all we knew was Ivors name. I would love to pin down the year Charles came to canada!! any marriages for Ivor? i would sooooo love to get in touch with a living rel!!!! that really would be the icing on the cake!! because the children were so young when the family was split up most of the info i have been given was guess work or wrong so it has taken a loooong time to piece it all together. maybe Ivor can be found on a census in the US?? i wonder why he went their in the middle of the war??? anyone willing to look for Ivors siblings??? omg I AM SO EXCITED! any further info on any of them would be fab!! I don't think i want to trace Violas family further. just the Halls! oh this is so brilliant!!

SORRY!! i didn't post as i was afraid someone would waste their time looking up stuff i already have. wasn't sure of the relevance and didn't want to complicate things but here you are xx

parents are Charles Hall b1832 croxton cambridgeshire UK
Bridget nee gilligan b1835 dublin ireland. they married in Dec qtr 1860 wolvehampton 6b 824
Bridget died in 1877 in kensington london UK and by 1881 the children are all in the west london district school ashford (basically an orphanage) while the children are in the school, dad charles is at her majesties pleasure chatham kent presumably for some misdemeanor to keep the family together??
charles snr and bridget had 7 children altogether all of whom i have traced except the youngest 2 Robert b1874 and charles b1876.
I have no idea what happened to Robert? he may have gone to canada as well? been adopted anything but the next youngest child was elizabeth b1870 she was my g grandma and the only thing she knew was charles went to canada. we have now located charles and this is who i would really like to find out more about!!
charles jnr his wife Viola and their children inc Ivor. It is my dream to find rel of charles jnr and reunite the family. Sadly all the older members of the family have now passed away but each of them had the regret that they never knew what happened to the boys. It would be lovely if i could fit the final pieces into the jigsaw!!
