I think that Irene Beddows marriage is the right one can only suggest getting it and see what age she was Theres NO marriage for Hoskins to a Lorene

OR get the birth cert of the 1939 birth where mmn is beddows

New thread started by Jeana (I've told her to remove it).

hiya, first, thanks to all looking for us. now,it gets wierd. the death records shown,is that on her gravestone- lorena hoskins, newport. this was put on roughly 2 year ago. until we saw this name, we knew her as the name on her sons birth certificate. LOUISA. but..she had 4 kids with my grandad, not harry hoskins. on 2 of the kids certificates, maiden name is BETTERS on 1, is BEDDOWS the other is DAVIES.!!! im at a loss looking by myself, and close to giving up. as the war was on,she used diffrent maiden names-dunno why.any leads will be great. maybe the one name that came back may have been her.. irene as her nick-name at home was ene. she had sisters- queenie, lucy fawney and freedom, and at least 1 brother, abie. any thoughts?? thanks , jeana and shane

Shirley has got the hang of it. The child born 1939 has the grandfather's surname, mmn Beddows. It says Betters on the image, but there is a second child born with same surname, mmn Beddows.

Her maiden name will be on the birth certificate of your parent, born 1939.

Free bmd is a great resource but not many births from 1939 are yet on it.

If you send me a private message (click on my name on this thread), with the name of your parent, and I will look it up on Ancestry for you.
