which matches the Swales family in the '51 and '61 census

Hi Dee, I have printed out all your finds to help me find the way through. I am not sure how many of the Lavinias are the same person!
From the 1881 the Lavinia Hasdell who in 1901 is with John Moore would be born c.1860.
Francis Swales marries Lavinia Rowley in 1863 and they have Elizabeth c.1868 (who marries John O'Brian) but was Lavinia c.1860 also their daughter? This would change the O'Brien grandchildren to nephews and nieces?
Was Lavinia Swales nee Rowley really born in 1847 as this would make her a very young mother and bride?
Now I'm off to see if Francis Swales c.1831 is in IGI...........

In 1901 James Devoto was listed as a "Pot Hawker", this Moore family is in the right area for a marriage in the York reg district and John Moore is a "Hawker"... so maybe??

Hi all contributors to this thread. I have now been sent a picture of the marriage certificate for Johnny Asdale and father is given as James. The family as found by Dee in 1901 is the correct one so didn't you do well. Thank you.
