Age does tend to change at times... I had a look in the 1871 image, it does look like BALMBER and born Scotland, so that has to be his future wife otherwise it's a bit of a coinidence!

Oh no 'T'; I just initally assumed that William Nixon and Margaret Balmer were in service together in 1871! I suspect she may the Margaret Balinber, who is 29 shown on the 1871 with William Nixon! Of course, the age doesn't quite match, nor does the spelling of the surname! She could be someone completely unrelated!

On thought, William has two possible marriages in the same district of Hexham in the same Quarter of 1872! I really do need his marriage cert to confirm!

The 1861 is lovely isn't it! How nice the worked in service together, and thank you 'T' also! Your census work seems to show William Nixon in 1871 with his wife in service too! So two brothers went into service and met their wives there it would seem!
