Hi Bob
The next generation, that is your fathers parents Harriet and Thomas Jessop.
Harriet Flatters was born in Dec 1879 in Sleaford Lincolnshire.
She was in Kirkburton Huddersfield on the 1891 census aged 12.
She married your grandfather Thomas Jessop in 1906 when she would be about 27 years old.
I believe your grandfather was Thomas Jessop born 1877 in Lepton which is a couple of miles from Kirkburton.- J

Hi Bob
now that Jack's parent have been established as Thomas Jessop and Harriet Flatters it might be worth having a look at the 1881 census. This is free on familysearch if you haven't access to them. This shows the family who I believe your Thomas Jessop 1877 belongs to.
Henry Jessop 43 Hand loom weaver living Hill Top Lepton Huddersfield
Alice Jessop 40
John 20
Fred 17
Charles Henry 13
Ellen 11
Almond- yes that is correct- 9
Sarah Amelia 7
THOMAS JESSOP 4-your grandfather
Alice Ann 2
You wil see there are a couple of duplicate names which are in the next generation- hope this helps- J

Hi Bob
www.familysearch.com

If you enter this into the address bar it will bring you onto this mormon site. You will see where to enter Thomas Jessop. Enter his year of birth, 1877
In this instance you won't have to enter anything else. Press enter. It will bring up two Thomas Jessops. The one you want is the 1881 census. Just click on. When you have done this just look to the right of the screen and click on the word 'household' . This will allow you to look at the family of Thomas.-JLe

Hi Bob
The other free site to look at is
www.freebmd

This might help with birth, marriages and deaths after Sep 1837. Anything before may be on familysearch.

Happy searching- J
