It's unlikely Ann will pick up on this
You can try to make contact by clicking on her name and sending a message

In the meantime you should remove your email address as this is an insecure site so anything posted can be picked up by Google

Good night all, and thank you.

Steven Report 31 Aug 2010 23:56

Well now there's a coincidence.
A totally different branch of my tree come from Redcliffe.
Redcliffe is not a very big place, and they were there at the same time.
It has St Mary Redcliffe church (the fairest and godliest church in the land according to one of our Queens. Elizabeth I think) The original lead shot tower, a very good school C 0f E attatched to the church and not a lot else.
It is however very close to the docks which Bristol is famous for. (one of my ancertors was a sailmaker there)
The Eyers branch are on my wife sid of the family.
Now, if they ever got it together ????????????
That would explain why our kids are bonkers.

Steven

Steven Report 31 Aug 2010 23:26

It's all coming too thick and fast for me to keep track of.
I will have to go soon but before I do may I thank yoy both for all of your help this evening.
Never expected even half of what you have found.
Thank you.
I will, before I leave print off, and store everything.

PS There is a very sketchy family story that The great Western and The Great Eastern pubs in Cardiff were once owned by the family !
Story goes, Shirley Bassey used to be a singer there in her younger days.

The 1881 census that Ann of GG posted with Elias is Fredericks 1870 father, it all now ties in with everything, assuming this IS your Frederick!

**Ann**

heres the marriage

The 1911 census I thought maybe Frederick as a barman, he is down a lodger.......methinks they are his grandparents!

So is it what I read in the first place Frederick the father and frederick his son...........if so the 1901 has them as 1892 and 1868??, are we on the right track?

Census ages are usually out in years

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 31 Aug 2010 22:56

The only way to go backwards and be sure you have the right family is to purchase that birth cert, this will tell you his mothers name+maiden name and his fathers name & occupation, the 1911 & 1901 census I posted are a maybe..........but could be him with the marriage taken place in Cardiff and the 1901 in Cardiff

He will NOT appear on the 1891 census as this was taken around April and his birth was not registered till Dec of that year
