i am looking for my mothers family, i have her birth certificate and it says thomas henry jones/catherine a lewis formally reardon late lewis as her parents, she was born pauline jane jones in abertillery in october 1923 but i cannot find any details of thomas and catherine wedding so am stuck in a total brick wall, any help or suggestions please i need help

She must have married a Reardon to be late Reardon,but you have her a formally Reardon and Late Lewis...

her name on certificate was jones so i assume yes

i dont recall brothers or sisters ever mentioned so i assume none, i think the a is ann, word of mouth so not sure

thomas henry was a confectioner, later to be a master confectioner, i cannot find where he trained but i know from his death certificate he continued this and even had his own confectioners

i have from thomas death certificate that he was born 1887 so that is not that far away so real possible will have to do some more digging, thanks, could you look at the birth of the children and see if there is a maiden name for mother ?

Thank you David you have answered my next question which was when was he born according to his death certificate.
I don't think the above will be him as there is too much discrepancy in his age.

true but i am not sure, he died in fairmile hospital in 1955 aged 68 but on the records from the hospital there were several dates of birth so not sure ?

Maiden names of mothers were not included in the indexs until late 1911 and onward I am afraid,so its not possible to do that..

Do you know what sort of year Catherine was born please?


I have been unable to find a death of John James Riordan in the indexs before 1923,nor on WW1 deaths.

So maybe if this is Catherine he didnt die but they just parted,so Catherine was unable to marry Thomas?

i thought we might get away with baby thomas 1911, oh dear another blank !!
