Hi Janey.
I sent for the certificate and thought it would be in today but it isn't. Now it won't be in until sometime next week. I won't email you now until it comes in. I didn't want you to think I hadn't sent for it.

Memory refreshed now, will be waiting for it.

Except ... getting close to the holidays, so there may not be an immediate response (from me, anyhow!), but just give the thread a poke after Christmas if nothing's happened by then.

Hi Janey.
I recived the marriage certificate today and Isabella Turner did marry
Robert Lammonby, he was full age, batchler, joiner,Newcastle-on-tyne and father Robert Lammonby a builder. She was 19,single, born Consett, father William Turner a miner. I cannot make out the date except May 18??. They were married after bannes in the Parish Church in the parish of Consett.

I am glad it came in as I was wondering why it took so long. Here is the information anyway.

On the GRO reference information it does say 1875.

Okay, so the 1861 census (which we're taking it is your family) says

William Turner 29 (born Scotland) -- Miner
Ann Turner 24
Isabella Turner 4 - born Benfieldside
William Turner 10 MO

I don't know the geography and Benfieldside doesn't seem to exist, but there is a Benfieldside Rd in Consett now.

And the marriage certificate says

- father William Turner a miner.

So it does indeed look like a match.

She shoots, she scores, again! ;)

And happy holidays to you and all of Isabella's family!

I am looking forward to finding out where she went and if her and family are in my province, Ontario.
Will chat after Christmas.
Take care and have a happy, healthy Christmas and 2011.
Thank you for all the help.

Did I know you're in Ontario??

I'm in a part that actually has not had any snow to speak of!

we didn't get as much as London but we got enought. My one daughter lives in Tillsonburg and her husband has not used the snow blower. He said it was light snow and not much. Chat in the new year.
