Thank you for all your help everyone. I'm sorry if you think my replies were rude and ungrateful and so warrant the message i received: I was treating this as a sort of ongoing conversation. I have never been on anything like this and don't know either the protocol or how much information I should have provided. I am sorry to have wasted your time but please believe I am grateful

I for one have not found your replies to be rude and ungrateful Karen and would have helped had I felt able to.
I also do not think you have wasted MY time.
My time is given of my free will.
Unfortunately I can find nothing registered under that name abroad, as I said, so feel that she may well have been adopted/taken in by the Seymours.
I have also searched deaths for the Christian names using 1938 =/- 5 years but have found nothing.
The same with a possible remarriage.and again drawn a blank.
If you come up with any other clues that may help in your search please feel free to ask for help from me and if I can give it I will.

Karen
Please don't let what was said on here put you off your research. You were neither rude nor ungrateful and certainly did not waste anyone's time and like Fanny BG I just wish i could have found the info you were looking for.
You did nothing to warrant being treated the way you were and as far as I am concerned you did everything right. You gave the information you had and responded to queries quickly.
It's such a shame that your experience on these boards has left a bad taste, not only in your mouth but in mine too.

Hi Karen, this thread pops up in My Threads because I posted on it at the beginning. I have to second what Fan has said (she's not a bad old stick really and she's quite good at what she does!) I do wish people would remember that we are not all born with an inbuilt knowledge of how to go about researching our family history.

I was pleased that you had figured out how to reply - I send about 50 messages out per day to people who haven't worked out how to find their thread again and I haven't sent one to you, so you have saved me some work - thank you. Sorry I can't help you any further though. Cx.

Edit....I'm glad Astra feels the same way too.

Thank you everyone for the lovely replies - they are appreciated EVEN more than the information. I will persevere and won't now be put off.

Hello Karen,
People have a nasty habit of collecting middle names. Have you considered this birth?

That Patricia Seymour was my favourite until I got her marriage cert which stated her fathers name as Albert David Seymour. I had thought she might have rearranged or invented her names too but can't find any other likely female seymours born 10 years either side of 1938 (she was 21 in 1959 according to her marriage cert). Thank you for trying though :-)

Hi

If the marriage was 1920 and David was born 1925 where there any other children from this marriage ? as formal adoptions only began in 1927.
If Patricia was born 1938, then David would have been 13 when she was born, Is he still alive to ask ?

Just found Alberts in 1890, there is someone called Karen on this site who he may have him in her tree maybe she can be of help to you.

Hi Sheila

I haven't found any other obvious children so far and unfortunately David died in 2000 so I'm hoping he may have some children I can find eventually.

Thank you for looking and the ideas.
