Find Ancestors

I hope you can help as I am having trouble finding my great grand father.

I will start with my Granddad Robert Charles Legg, born 1897, Battersea, South west London. Died 1940?
Residing at 12 Creek st, Battersea. Also residing is a lady called Fanny Truelove ( cannot find anything on this lady)
My Great granddad is named Charles (middle name Robert ??) Legg born 1867 (?) married Mary (?) > Basically the story goes that my granddad Charlie had 7 children in Battersea South London, 6 died, leaving my granddad Robert the only survivor. Charlie (GG) then leaves south London and ventures over to North London and resides at Caledonian Rd, Islington, commits bigamy and has another 7 children .As he committed bigamy there is a possible chance he changed his name to Charlie Hicks?
I would dearly love to find out anything as I started research before my own Father died and anything you can help with would be truly appreciated.

Chris, this is def the one. do you know if there was six other children? I know only my grandad Robert was the only survivor in south london. And then charles went on to have another sevem in North London where it's possible he met another Mary?

This could be my great great Nan and Grandad??
