Hi EVEIE,
Thanks for the Marriage dates but I think it has to be the late forties onwards.

Hi Brenda,
The person who registered the death is a Handel Sydney Everett in what capacity he was able to register the death i do not know, his address was differerent to my grandmother.
I also have been trying to find a marriage for Bennett, I have thought it would be sometime after 1948 or 1950 as this was the last remembered sightings of her as far as I know.
Regards
Ken

Hi Ken,

Does the person that registered the death give any clues? Does the certificate give her husbands name at all?

I wish I knew where else to look but although I have tried to find her marriage to unknown Bennett, I have not been lucky so far.

Hi Moody Blue,
The certificate arrived today and this does look that this lady was my grandmother, birhplace and date match. Widowed, husband Bennett no other details but given her age 98 he could have passed away some years earlier. The address where she lived and died was only a mile or two from my parents home.
Well thanks again
Regards Ken.

Hi
With the help of people on this site there is the likelihood that i have a connection with the name Maynard by marriage to Lavinia Maud Rogers who I think is my grandmothers (Mabel Winifred)sister. My grandmother married Ernest Gay in bath.

Do you think that this may be your Mabel Winifred....I found this one earlier and that is why I asked for her date of birth:-

England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2005
about Mabel Winifred Bennett
Name: Mabel Winifred Bennett
Birth Date: 11 May 1883
Death Registration Month/Year: 1981
Registration district: Bournemouth
Inferred County: Dorset
Volume: 23
Page: 0353

It may be worth purchasing this certificate!!

Hi Kenneth.

Have just noticed that on the 1911 census it states that they had been married 28 years.......so this would coincide with the "1st" marriage. I wonder why there are two other marriages though?

This is the start of his service records:-

British Army WWI Service Records, 1914-1920
about Sam Rogers
Name: Sam Rogers
Estimated birth year: abt 1865
Age at enlistment: 19
Birth Parish: Melksham
Birth County: Wiltshire
Document Year: 1884
Regimental Number: 5140
Regiment Name: Commissariat & Transport Corps
Number of Images: 13

I can send the images to you if you should wish. If you want them, email me privately with your email address.

Hi Moody Blue
Thanks for your input, I will make some enquires concerning twins and birth times, with reference to Samuel Rogers service records I don't have them. First though I was thinking of sending for their marriage certificate as I saw on your earlier thread that there is possibly more than one also on my grandparents marrige certificate in 1910 at Bath his occupation was listed as sergeant major and the 1911 census as pensioner. Once again thanks for your help.

Do you have his service records? They are on Ancestry.

on one of the pages it says:

no 5140 Sergt Major Rogers 28thCoy A.S.Corps was admitted to hospital 01 October 1903....Ulcer Leg (result of Enteric Fever contracted in S Africa)

He was stationed at Bulford Camp, Salisbury.

He was discharged 05 Jan 1907 (medically unfit)

Hi Kenneth,

I do not know what that would stand for but I think that on a Twins birth the the time of birth is also given.......could this by chance be anything like a time? Maybe ??. 20pm

Hi,
Since I last posted this thread concerning the Rogers family I sent off for a birth certificate for Agnes Rogers in the hope that I would find his service number and confirm the corp he was in,(Commissariat and Transport Corps) to become the Army service corp, unfortunately no number, however when I looked at the address where Agnes was born between her date of birth and the address there was written "y.20P.In would anybody have an idea as to what this is.

Hi Anne-Marie and Moody Blue,
Thanks for the helpful information, as you have guessed I have some of the information you provided that is up to 1911. The purpose of my search is my grandmother Mabel Winifred Rogers who married my grandfather Ernest Gay in Bath in 1910 little or nothing is known of her as she left the family home when my father was a young child and the last sighting was possibily the late forties and early fifties. Myself and my cousins know nothing of the Rogers family so I was trying to establish a link.
Thanks again for your help and if you have any ideas they will always be appreciated.
Regards
Ken
