Please could somebody do a 1911 census look up for

George Vogel born abt 1875 and his wife Gertrude M born in1881. They married in the 3rd Quarter of 1902 in Mile end Old town London. I have the cert

I found Gertrude in the 1901 cencus with her parents and siblings.

The little i know about George Fredrick Vogel is from his marriage cert. He married my great aunt. But here goes.

Father John Vogel (deceised)
He was living at 72 Milton Avenue, Little Ilford, London.
which I believe is in West Ham, London.

unfortunately there are no Vogels at that address in 1901 or 1911

on the marriage cert what are George and his father's occupations?

His father was a baker.

So they changed thier name for some reason

most likely reason is that Vogel is a german name and as the war was going on they felt more comfortable that way?

ah the 1901 census for the marriage address looks like making more sense now

Very true Dawn found quite a few German sounding names changed to English ones in that census

So why did he marry under the name of Vogel if his name was baker? as his father was John Vogel a baker and was dead in1902, he may have died young and his mother remarried and they were known as Baker?
More puzzels to work out now.

George prefers to use his stepfathers name, except on official documents
