Probable marriage for Thomas + Adelaide:

London, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1921
about Thomas Swan Name: Thomas Swan
Spouse Name: Adela Meads
Record Type: Marriage
Marriage Date: 29 Nov 1829
Parish: St Mary, Hanwell
County: Middlesex

Witnesses William Adams + Parish Clerk.

Sarah is therefore Adelaide's sister - this should make them easier to find.

Laters!!!

P.S. - There is a 10 year age gap on Sarah though - needs more work !!!

Will come back to you.

Right then, so we have a 10 year age difference somewhere amiss for Sarah Meads???

She is 18 and unmarried on 1841.

The 1851 shows her married to William but she is 38! - I have looked again and it does say 38, However, I believe this could well be an error as on the 1861, still with William, she is 39 !

Sarah's marriage cert to William Brown would give you details of both parents, probably their ages, and more useful info:

This looks like it:

Marriages Dec 1844

BAKER Henry Kensington 3 217
***BEADS Sarah Kensington 3 217
***BROWN William Kensington 3 217
CHOICE Bridget Kensington 3 217
CUMMINGS Johanna Kensington 3 217
HARRIS Joseph Kensington 3 217
Hillyar Henry Kensington 3 217
Hillyer Henry Kensington 3 217
***MEADS Sarah Kensington 3 217
WALTON Louisa Kensington 3 217

........................

Looking for her parents, I find:

Very probably Adelaide's parents (therefore parents also of Sarah??)

1841 England Census
about Mary Meads Name: Mary Meads
Age: 50
Estimated birth year: abt 1791
Gender: Female

Civil Parish: Ealing
Hundred: Ossulstone (Kensington Division)
County/Island: Middlesex
Country: England

Street address:...........Uxbridge Rd. South

Registration district: Brentford
Sub-registration district: Brentford
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members: Name Age
George Meads 50 Ag Lab.
Mary Meads 50 .....................Not born in Middlesex
Thomas Swan 8 *******

Source Citation: Class: HO107; Piece 689; Book: 8; Civil Parish: Ealing; County: Middlesex; Enumeration District: 11; Folio: 17; Page: 31; Line: 3; GSU roll: 438805.

NOTE: They have with them a Thomas Swan who is most probably their grandson, son of Thomas + Adelaide??

.....................

I also find, living in the same area a 'Possible' brother for Adelaide + Sarah??

1841 England Census
about William Meads Name: William Meads
Age: 20
Estimated birth year: abt 1821
Gender: Male
Where born: Middlesex, England

Civil Parish: Ealing
Hundred: Ossulstone (Kensington Division)
County/Island: Middlesex
Country: England

Registration district: Brentford
Sub-registration district: Brentford
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members: Name Age

.................

Trying to find and connect the 3 children - Adelaide, William and Sarah to George + Mary, I find 2 Baptisms:

London, England, Births and Baptisms, 1813-1906
about Sarah Meads Name: Sarah Meads
Record Type: Baptism
Estimated Birth Date: abt 1822
Baptism Date: 16 Jun 1822
Father's name: George Meads ...Labourer
Mother's name: Mary Meads
Parish or Poor Law Union: West Twyford
Borough: Ealing
Birth: 28th May, 1822

..........

London, England, Births and Baptisms, 1813-1906
about William Meads Name: William Meads
Record Type: Baptism
Estimated Birth Date: abt 1819
Baptism Date: 24 Oct 1819
Father's name: George Meads .... Labourer
Mother's name: Mary Meads
Parish or Poor Law Union: West Twyford
Borough: Ealing
Born 5th October, 1819

Unfortunately, these Baptism records only start at 1813 - Adelaide was born prior to that date !!

.................

We now have a very good match for a possible marriage of George and Mary?

London, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1921
about George Meads Name: George Meads
Spouse Name: Mary Adams
Record Type: Marriage
Marriage Date: 02 Nov 1807
Parish: St Mary, Church Road, Hanwell
County: Middlesex
Borough: Ealing

If you remember, when Adelaide married Thomas, the witness was William ADAMS, so it looks good to connect!

Of course, you would need a few certs to prove all this.

What do you think?
