There is an image of the baptism entry on Cityark but they only named the parents, not who was actually there, at the time.

William is still recorded as a Mariner at Henrietta's baptism on August 26th 1855. Have you found Ann's baptism? I couldn't see it in Chatham.

What sort of records do you mean? Im not very good at at all this, lol

The only records I have are censuses 61 onwards, marriage cert and what I think are the right naval document.

I shall just have a look to see what I have on Ann :-)

I have a baptism for Ann Elizabeth Cooter - 16th Dec 1849

She was born Shires Street, Chatham on 28th Nov 1849

I dont actually know where I got that from as I do not have source saved. I shall look into it

Edit - I think from another member and I have various details about her death

Erika,
I've now found Ann's baptism at St Mary's Chatham on Dec 16th as you said. Again William is described as a Mariner - as were 4 other fathers on the page!

There is a Richard Cooter aged 63 in Medway Union Workhouse in Chatham on the 1841 census, this would tie in with his son being in the area. He is still there in 1851 aged 75, a widower, it gives Canterbury as his birthplace and tallow chandler as occupation.

His death
Deaths Jun 1856
Cooter Richard Medway 2a 199
