Sandra, I think Campbell must be a mistake on the Ontario marriage record, but, as I said, I looked at the original and that's what it said. There isn't a chance, is there, that Peter remarried a Margaret Cameron?

Sandra

Sandra Report 7 Dec 2010 21:36

Thank you all for forgiving me, I truly am sorry, I think old age is kicking in really fast for me. lol.

alvie, do you think Campbell is a mistake then and it should be Chalmers?

alviegal Report 7 Dec 2010 20:48

You're forgiven Sandra. When one thread gets to 3 pages long, it's easy to assume that starting a new thread would be easier. The only thing is that a lot of the findings will just be duplicated by new helpers which is just telling you lots of things you already know.

Anyway, back to your problem. I can't find a marriage for a Peter Lyon to a Margaret Campbell.

Apology accepted, Sandra, we all make mistakes.
Heck, I posted the same census on 2 of your threads without realizing I had already done so.

Sandra,
I didn't do much on this thread,so it's easy for me to forgive you (mainly because you were so nice and polite).

I guess you got confused, but it really is best to stick to one thread-which I'm certain you realise now!

Happy hunting,
Maureen

I AM SO SORRY EVERYONE, I DIDN'T REALISE I HAD ANOTHER THREAD ON THIS COUPLE.

I CANNOT APOLOGISE ENOUGH FOR WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME.

Sandra

Sandra Report 7 Dec 2010 16:32

Sorry everyone, I was looking for information in Canada and then I came across a different mmn so I asked for a census lookup to see if it was the same person I was looking for in Canada.

Margaret thank you again, I have asked for a census lookup to see if there's a Dugald for Margaret Chalmers.

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 7 Dec 2010 15:11

I thought Dugald's mother's maiden name might just be a mistranscription on his marriage record so just had a look at the original. It definitely says Margaret Campbell.

Sandra

Sandra Report 7 Dec 2010 14:44

Dugalds parents were definitely Peter Lyon and Margaret Chalmers.

Sandra

Sandra Report 7 Dec 2010 13:47

Margaret thank you again.

The 1911 census on Automated Genealogy with different spelling:

Ottawa, Ontario
Lyons Dugall M Head M Dec 1883 27
Lyons Annie F Wife M Jul 1892 19
Lyons Peter M Son S Oct 1910 7/12

Original says parents born Scotland, he emigrated 1892?

Maureen and Margaret, thank you so much for your help.

I'm really confused again, I'm going to have to look into this a bit more.
