In case anyone is following this and curious....

Turns out Maria Izard and William Henry Montgomery and in turn Maria Malibran Montgomery / Collins are not Joanne's ancestors.

Her ancestors were actually Augustine Rolfe and Maria Bragg. I've sent Joanne a wealth of information on the family now to get her going in the right direction.

I'm not seeing a marriage at all for a Maria/Marie/Mary Montgomery to a William Rolfe - any variation of spelling for Rolfe.

I've sent you a message with a request to view your tree - if you have the information on there I can take a look and see where we need to go!

Mmmm well Maria Malibran (b. 1847) married George Walter Collins - see all the info posted about them. They married in 1879 and had two children, Adrian John France Collins b. 1880 and Elsie Collins b. 1882.
George Walter died in 1907 and Maria Malibran Collins (nee Montgomery) died in 1928 - she did not remarry.

Elsie married Peter Adolphus Trechman in 1920 - I dont think they had any children.

Adrian married Ida Kirkpatrick in 1931 - no obvious children but may have moved about.

It looks like there may not be a connection. Where did you get William Rolfe's wife's details from?

If i'm right in saying this person could be related to my Nans side
or i could be totally wrong (and knowing me, i'm wrong).

Maria Malibran married William Rolfe and this man was my nans great grandfather and great grandmother i think

William Henry Montgomery could be my nans great great grandfather so i'm still checking and double checking and then checking again as i have no family to ask
Thats why i can't thank you guys enough for all your help this means so much to me, I'm meant to be working today but i'm going going to be i'm going to check all this out.

I could see that the Montgomery / Collins stuff was a bit difficult due to peoples ages varying wildly on the censuses and name spelling etc!

How are you connected might I ask as I couldn't find any children for Maria Collins' daughter Elsie and nothing stood out for children of Adrian?
