	There is a tree on Ancestry with photos of both Selina and John.

	I would get the marriage certificate found by safc and find out his father's name and occupation. It is the only way you are ever going to be sure.

Member Since: March 2010 Posts: 20 Send Message	The surname for 1861 was down as Nuttarble and as there is no other Nuttarble on any census so take it it has been written down wrong which often happens with our surname. It is Nuttles,Nuthall and more. 1861 living in 65 Eight Row. Witton Gilbert John Head 31 Coal Miner Solina Spouse 27 John Son 7 born 7/9/1853 Wigan Isaac Son 3 born 11/11/1856 Usworth Co. Yes there first son John was born in Wigan I do have that record. If as they say they were married in 1853 she must have been pregnant as John was born 7 Sept. 1853

	Sorry Ann but i can't locate their marriage. Where did this information come from? Do you know where they married. I wonder if John was in the forces at all. I'll just check the military marriages. EDIT: No nothing in the military for him for that time either

	But according to the OP the child born in 1841 was Edward not William and there is no baptism of a John listed to Matthew and Alice.

	Little Lever is a large village within the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton in Greater Manchester The date of the 1841 census was the night of 6 June 1841 William was 6 months old This looks like his birth Births Mar 1841 Nuttall William - Bolton 21 168 The certificate should give Mother's maiden name

	There is a family with mother Alice and children John, Thomas and Adam that Astra and I posted in 1841 and 1851 above - although John wasn't living with the family in 1851

	Posted those baptisms to show the siblings of the Adam that Lindsey found. There doesn't appear to be a family on census with John, Richard ,Thomas and Adam.

	Who did John marry? Father's name from certificate.
