If you have a birth cert for a child and the father is Daniel then send for Daniels marriage cert to Mary Evans because that is what you know.

Sometimes however especially on early registration the writing is difficult to read. The modern transcribers can get it wrong. I have a death cert for a baby which was registered as Mary on deaths. When I received the cert I found her name was Mercy but because of the unusual middle name ( also mistranscribed) I found a sibling of my gt grandfather that I didnt know about

I am unsure of how to proceed now, what certs to order etc, any advice would be very much appreciated, Do i order the marriage certificate for David Watkins to Mary Williams or the certificate for Daniel Watkins to Mary Evans? On the birth certificate for the son Hezekiah, it has Daniel Watkins as father, and mother Mary Watkins late Evans formerly Williams. Can anyone help please?

Edit... ah i see, so you think she married as her birth name? that might be worth getting the marriage certs for:)) the only thing that bothers me is the fact that his name is Daniel on the birth certificate.

I have had a quick look for a marriage for a David Watkins to Mary Evans about 1840 give or take 8 years and nothing shows up, off to look for a marriage for her under her former name of Williams.

i think i have found the marriage for Daniel Watkins to Mary Evans 1840 2nd qtr Merthyr Tydfil, Am i right to send off for this certificate? Mary's name on the birth certificate is down as late Evans formerly Williams, so would she marry under the name of evans or Williams? any advice would be very much appreciated.

Still struggling to find Hezekiah's parents, its odd that no births are showing for Daniel Watkins c1822 there must be a few some where! off to look again.

I have started to try and find the parents of Ezekiah Watkins, and hope someone will be able to help:)

I have the birth certificate for Hezekiah:- born 17.2.1842 Llanfabon Merthyr tydfil, Mother Mary Watkins late Evans formerly Williams, Father Daniel Watkins Berth Llwyd, coal miner. Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Edit:- the only marriage i can find so far is A Daniel Watkins to Anne Williams , and i have had no luck with the birth of Daniel:( will keep looking.
