Could someone please do me a marriage look up for Esther Wain & Thomas Podmore please i think it could have been 1901 Burslem. But her name is comeing up as Esther or Estella on BMD

all i have is Thomas Podmore B 1872 Burslem. where she came from i don't know.

the Estella is a mistranscription. the index says Esther

All items on freebmd are eventually 'double keyed'. Two separate transcribers, possibly months or even years apart, transcribe the same batch or records. Sometimes the first transcription is from a v poor copy and errors occur.

When the doublekeyed records matach they become one record and appear in bold type face.

I have submitted a correction to freebmd

Jean have you found him on other census returns?

The only Thomas Podmore I could find born Burslem 1872 was mistranscribed and is actually I think Thamar a female and a dressmaker

Could i ask again for help with Thomas podmore. He was B 1872 Burslem have him on the 1881 familysearch census with his parents Samuel & Elizabeth, Trying to find out who he married please. I did find one 25-12-1901 her name was Esther Wain i did have help with that one. Now i have found a Thomas & Hannah Orgill married 1892 Burslem.

how did you track back to Thomas b 1872 please. Do you have the names of any of his children?

I have back tracked from when my father was b 1911 he was B in Tunstall & it looks like all of the family of Podmore's come from eather Tunstall, Burslem,or Wolstanton. I don't know who Thomas was married to if it was Esther Wain or Hannah Orgill if it was Hannah these are a possible children Samuel 1894 & John 1895.
