Ellen Lavell born Westminster 1831 married ? then married my GG Grandfather Timothy Duhigg who came from Limerick to London he was born 1839. They had 2 children Timothy and Ellen.Can anyone help with Ellen Lavell's fist husband's name please?

The marriage to Timothy Duhigg but using her maiden name. Are you sure she was married before? Or did you mean Lavell was her first married name?

Tmothy junior was born before they married and I can't find his birth record. Are you certain he was born a Duhigg?

I am not sure perhaps they were wrong and it was her first marriage , not got any other details son Timothy born 1869 and daughter Ellen born 1873

Do you actually have the marriage cert = if not you need it I think.

yes certain he was born Timothy Duhigg he married Alice Crabb in1886

no sorry I do not have marriage cert.

also got death cert Ellen died in 1892

Just saying I can't see a birth for him anywhere. The name he married under doesn't prove his birth name unfortunately. Not saying you are wrong, might be me. However, the favt that they were born 4-9 years before the marriagemakes me suspicious.
Have you found the family together in 1871?

Sorry as you can see I am a novice at this only checked the 1891 census and they were altogether then.. I don't know much about Timothy Duhigg only that he was a journeyman and shoemaker from Limerick.Not too sure when he came over here

Mind you there's another Alice Crabb who married 1886 in Exeter.

Perhaps Ellen Lavell was their step mother and she married him when his first wife had died?

Yes it's definitely Edward Dewy as I have that marriage cert.

Madbull, would you please have a look for the births of the Duhigg children?

Also on cert is father of Edward DEWY that states Edward Dewy senior .. bootmaker Journeyman from Limerick .so hence the confusion ..Timothy Duhigg became Edward Dewy perhaps the marriage of Ellen Lavell and Edward Dewy are recorded
