Please can any one help?
Trying to trace my great grandparents Rhoda Hobbs and Frank Brooks,
I can find no record.
They had daughter Edith Lucy Brooks DOB 24/02/13 (my grandmother) who was born in Stockport. Her mother was born ? Oxfordshire.

It is not easy to pinpoint Rhoda and Frank in the 1911 census.
You would need to get their marriage certificate to find out their father's names.
Do you know if they had any brothers or sisters?

Was his death in Stockport in 1939?

Did they have other children? If where?

Can't find a Rhoda Hobbs born Oxfordshire

Thank you so much. I have no further information, however I have been told in the past that Rhoda was from ? wealthy family, and she was cut off from her family, because she fell in love with Frank who was the head gardener.I`m afraid that`s all I know.

If you have no other information, the best thing to do is get their marriage certificate to see how old they stated they were, their father's names and names of witnesses which might give clues.

Both the dates in the 1911 census that Ann posted for FB and the 1911 census that Lynne posted for RH fit with the deaths of Frank Brooks in Stockport in 1939 and Rhoda Brooks in Stockport in 1966.

Just a thought.......

Jack is very often another name for John so keep this in mind when wondering who Jack Hobbs is - he could be John Hobbs?
