No but you can order it on SP. The reason is that they can only be opened up to 1935 I think for the privacy of live people. |

Hi again, missed the reply about Lawrence McQuiggan. Yes that is the right person. His father was from an Irish family that settled in ormskirk Southport. Yes was married at Gretna. They had 2 boys the first was adopted and the second boy died as an infant. The Angus name was suppose to be after Queenies Father and John after Lawrences Father. I was going to try and open this marriage cert but from what you say this is not allowed, I wonder why? |

Hi thanks to Catherine & Rootgatherer, for your replies, it has given some more room for thought. My Mother-in-law was a woman of mystery. |

Marriage John Roles to Ada Ellen East - Wandsworth 1900. Think I might be going off on the wrong track here. |

It is possible that it was Lawrence himself who gave the information on the marriage certificate, so I am just wondering if there was even a slight difference in the info. Not sure that it will help though but is worth a try. |

Patricia, Have you traced Lawrence's marriage certificate to see who he names as his parents? |

Hi, Thanks for replies. Queenie married again in Bristol to a T. Henry Exon and had 3 further children plus 2 step children. She died in Blackpool approx 1968/9. Her birth place on marriage cert and death say Glasgow, Father Angus Dale merchant seaman (Dec). Her eldest boy was brought up (so it was said) by grandparents in Glasgow boy called Lawrence McQuiggan from 1st marriage). My nephew has traced this boy and he died in 1946 his widow stating his Mother was called Rose and was deceased (when she wasn't) - we think he looked upon his grandparents as parents and grandmother was called Rose. Queenies middle name was Rubella. Her second son(my brother-in-law) born in Scotland is still alive and his family and myself are trying to find this family that is in Scotland. Hope all this is undetstandable! Thanks |
