Trying to find the birth dates for James Speirs Fraser on his death certificate he died May 12th 1952 aged 60 this will make his birth year abt 1892 he was a Marine Engineer's Bench man, on his son's birth certificate a Golf maker. Born Glasgow. ALso his wife Sarah Jemima Mc Kay they were married on the 1919 Sept 4th Blythswood Glasgow. There son James Ross Speirs Fraser born 7th March1925 at 50 Prince Albert St Glasgow. I know Sarah did marry again surname then Young not wanting that info .DO know James 1892 parents were David Speirs Fraser Wine and Spirit Merchant Phoebe Annie nee Beech. she may not have come from Scotland. James Ros is my huband father. Would be greatful for any info thank you Sue

Could someone please help me find more on Phoebe Annie Beech. SAFC found her for me she was born 1849 Northwich Cheshire christening 9th September 1849 in Church Minshull Cheshire. Her mother was Martha Beech, no father's name given. I cannot find her in any census, may be she moved to Scotland long before she married David Fraser. Ihave her in the 1891 census where she was living at 20 Afton Crest with David and her children.Which some one genes found for me. Living with David & Phoebe at 20 Afton Crest was Emily F Beech this could be her sister born abt 1858 don't know where. Would be grateful for someones help please. Thank you Sue

The census is the 1851 and there is no mother listed for her on it. She is just noted as a visitor and Agricultural Labourers daughter.

Ah! I just looked up Pheobe's marriage. Her father is named as Charles Beech-mechanical engineer-and mother is Annie nee Mountford.

I think the age for Phoebe on the 1891 census is likely a transcription error and should read 32 not 52!

If Maureen has just looked up Pheobe's marriage on Scotland's People then the information on the registration should be correct. It seems she did not come from Cheshire after all. and it appears that you may have been chasing the wrong birth.
