Find Ancestors

Hi there

I am hoping someone can shed some light onto this couple. I don't know much about them but they had a son James abt 1875 born in Newcastle England. Jame married Eleanor Bates in Liverpool in 1899. George had died by 1927.

As they were both scottish the could well have married there you will need to go to scotlands people for the marriage if thats the case

sorry to be a pain but the George and Jane I am trying to find are my great grandfather. Is there anyway of telling that this was definately them?
I have James first marriage to Eleanor Bates where he listed George and his second marriage to Beatrice where he listed George and Jane. James death certificate doesn't list any parents only he was born in Newcastle England

Can you advise me how i find out if it is the correct person?

It looks likely they are his parents although place of birth changes but age stays the same.

I take it his 2nd marriage and death was not in England or Wales? as those details are not on the certs

This is him I would think. Is Jarrow near Newcastle? (sorry live in Australie) are they in the 1911 census? Eleanor died in 1913. They also had Annie and James (3 children by 1911)
Is there any way of finding a birth certificate for James?
I did see one in Ancestry search - birth 1871 in Glendale Northumberland but it doesn't say who his parents were.

Cannot see them in 1911 only Eleanor I could find was married to a John and I found that marriage too....so not them I will have another look

Transcriber could'nt read the squiggly writing

yes I have - thereis one that says birth 1871 in Glendale Northumberland but but it doesn't show his parents either

You would just have to take a chance and buy it to find out who the parents are I'm affraid. There is also one born in South Shields my geography is'nt that good for that part of the country but its clos by I think

Jarrow is about 12 miles from Newcastle. I was born in the next town (Hebburn) It was not unusual for someone to say (when giving details out of County) that they were born in Newcastle as it is the nearest City.
