Stephen once Ginny sorted out the name I found the child of one of the children and looked him up on the electoral roll ... but I don't pay for details of records so I only know he's there, not where he is, as it were

Ginny sent you the name, you just need to go to Tracey's thread and send her a private message with the name and she will look up the current contact details

I did figure out what city/county the person on the electoral roll is in and tried BT on line with that info but no listing

Its your turn now Stephen!

You have the details of Selina's son and his marriage, try asking Tracey for an ER look up and then you can make contact with your family

Heres a link to Wayne/Tracey

And we got us a Percy W Caston aged 65+ on the electoral roll 2002-08 ... could suggest a death after 2008 ... that is, after the 2005 cutoff for access

edit - that was in Neston Cheshire

good one

there is one Cumiskay Caston birth

that person is on the current electoral roll

Gee

1911 census, you saw ?

HAFERKORN, William Head Married 44 1867 >>> Showman born London

who was your wife's granddad?

You saw the deaths and marriages I posted for the children in the 1911 census ?

marriages for four of them from a quick search ... any children should be transcribed at freebmd ...

Stephen

Stephen Report 21 Feb 2011 10:14

I have returned .. many thanks for this glut of information. My wife's grandad was a Haferkorn - from a circus family originating from Germany. He was a bit of a mystery to the family until last year when we discovered relatives who we had no knowledge of at all - since then they have become good friends. We are keen to search further. I will go through the information, cross-check with what I have already and keep you posted. The main difficulty is finding relatives of the generation born in the first part of the 20th century. There should be more around as her grandad was one of 13 ! Thanks again Stephen BARLOW

I've sent Stephen a message asking him to return

I feel the baptisms may be of interest to Stephen, if not well he can just ignore them - gives him an idea of where they spread out to

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 20 Feb 2011 23:55

Precisely.....So thats that glitch out of the way..

But of course that info may become relevant at a later date...Or not.....But without the poster coming back we cant do any more here really can we...

Anyone seen me glasses/specs??
Oh yes...On top of me head ...
Just proof reading now........Hmmm ,seems ok,so I am gonna hit.."submit"..

Will you two please stop the bickering, each of us have our own way of things and we all should at least try to get along on here.

I dislike posting on threads that become confrontational (Get enough of that in my "real"life.and thought we were doing ok here...Also it really is not nice for the poster to see this .....

siblings' marriages ... maybe Stephen will return ... who knows ...

rather more useful than their baptisms ........... assuming he is looking for living family of these people ............

births to all those marriages should be findable at freebmd by the surnames of the two parents ........ not for posting here because too recent and may be living

chrissiex

chrissiex Report 20 Feb 2011 22:54

Yes, obviously Haferkorn is a German name

That is one reason why I suggested a name change ... possibly during WW II ...

If Stephen were to obtain Percy Sr's birth certificate with an exact date of birth it might be possible to find a death record for a Percy with that date of birth (exact date of birth included on death records after 1969) and a surname that might be an adopted surname ... and check for a death of his wife and marriages of his children under the surname ...
