Hello

I was asking for Canada, CEF Burial Registers, First World War, 1914-1919

Which I did not have access to.

Some members found me other info some of which I did not have and am very grateful.

I do appologise for not keeping to one thread.

Kind regards Shirlock

Shirlock - I can tell you what's upset me. Specifically, your breach of the rules about repeated postings has caused me to waste my time looking up stuff which was already posted.

Thanks for your advice. I'll certainly be following it.

You really can do without these comments -- and every other paying user of these boards can do without you breaking rules and wasting their time.

'K?

Not the least bit of an apology ... it's really very easy, have you tried it? So many people who frequent this website seem never to have learned the practice, or to have worked hard to forget it if they did.

Me, I don't keep track of who's who. And I ain't especially upset ... just constantly gobsmacked.

Janey

You have been very helpful to me in the past. I don't know what has upset you.

I really enjoy researching my family tree and alway thank people for help.

I can really do without these comments.

If you see a message with the name Shirlock on you can always ignore it.

And the point is .......

If you had asked for the new info in the same thread as for his father with the same name, or any of the seven other threads about the same family, the same info could have been found **without** anyone wasting their time "finding" the info you already had, because it would have been right there in the thread.

Nice you've taken the point. A bit of an apology would be nicer.

Hello

Thank you for your comments

I did not have ALL this info before. Some was for his father with the same name.

Now I was asking for his death off ancestry and was given some really interesting info off mgnv and other members I did not have for which I am very grateful.

I take your point about keeping to the same thread though.

Thank you Shirlock

Too late you come, jax. ;)

Nobody reads the rules at all, do they? Or even stops for a moment to think, once they see it happening, that maybe having different people "find" information that others have already provided isn't the best use of other people's time .........

jax

jax Report 12 Mar 2011 13:30

mgnv

All that info has been given before on one of the other seven threads about this family in the last week

Shirlock you should keep to one thread as people are just wasting their time finding things you know already
