The 1832 marriage to Mebberson (is that extracted? I've given up on getting anything but down-for-maintenance messages from the IGI; how is anyone doing it??) is in Saint Margaret, Leicester, and I imagine that's what St Margaret With Bishops Fee, where "our" family was in 1841, is.

But yes, really really -- a child's birth certificate with a mother's name on it! could be ordered so easily as we dither.

jax Report 21 Mar 2011 22:30

Thats why I mentioned it earlier and the place of marriage matches this address and he is a farm labourer not a Blacksmith.

So the Mebberson one looks correct, it would of been nice for nike to have said where she got it from though

Ah. You answered the question last night. So ...

"yes, Ive tried so hard for ages to find these people and im struggling i didnt know if fresh eyes and more experienced people may have been able to help."

meant "Yes the tree on Ancestry is mine" ....

And I guess after several requests we're still waiting to know where the "Mebberson" came from!

I'll go back to asking the 48 people with my grx4 grandparents in their tree at Ancestry who aren't related to them at all and haven't the sense to know that people in Cornwall in the 1700s didn't have sons in Tennessee to please remove them, until we get an answer to that one, I guess. ;)"M

jax

jax Report 21 Mar 2011 21:47

I still want to know where Mebberson comes from? If his exact date of birth is known where did that come from?

Mike * Report 21 Mar 2011 21:31

This marriage is same place as Elizabeth above gives for her birth

WILLIAM RODWELL

Marriages:
Spouse: ELIZABETH WINTERTON
Marriage: 10 JUN 1834 Braunstone, Leicester, England

May not be the correct couple of course - would need to check children's birth certs

My argument against putting names onto ancestry without any proof is that it will be copied by all and sundry and become fact.
Looking at names in the locality Mebberson is almost certainly a corruption of mabson , mappison or something similar.?

jax

jax Report 21 Mar 2011 19:25

Where did you get the name Mebberson from? thats what I was asking... is it from his birth cert?

jax

nike

nike Report 21 Mar 2011 19:04

yes, the tree is mine on ancestry I did answer that last night.

I have exact details for more recent ancestors but as to Francis's parents I have none other than he was a blacksmith.

many thanks for all the help I appreciate the time you have taken.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 21 Mar 2011 00:21

Does the tree belong to same person as the one who corrected Frank's name in the census, jax? (Seems not.)

I wish people would answer questions!

Yours was easy, jax:

Is The Tree Yours (nike)?

jax

jax Report 21 Mar 2011 00:14

If that tree is yours on ancestry there seems to be a lot of exact info like date of birth and where.
If you have the birth cert surely his mothers maiden name is on it? or did you find this somewhere else?
