Glitter Baby, you are a genius!

It is indeed the MOUAT family on the 1911.

Thank you so much.

That's one side of the puzzled solved - now where is her husband to be on the 1911??

We know that he must be in the UK, and probably in the Manchester/ Liverpool area.

I have tried myself to find him on the 1911, but I don't find it very user friendly! It's such an unusual name that it really should be easier to find, but it's probably been mistranscribed.

'HERVEY' is our family surname, but also used as a middle name as in our Archibald. It has been misheard over the various censuses as HIRDEY/ HARVEY/HERSEY, etc., etc., so 'KIBBLE' is probably a casualty as well.

Is there a fresh pair of eyes out there, please?

Many thanks.

Not read whole thread but have you got this marriage?

Marriages Dec 1892 (>99%)
-

AUSTIN Jessie May Chorlton 8c 1342 <<<<<<<<<<
Cooper Eva Chorlton 8c 1342
Kibble Louis Hervey Chorlton 8c 1342 <<<<<<<
WOODEND Furness Chorlton 8c 1342

I was just cross checking a name on 1911, not him...but do you think there was a twin?

Births Mar 1894 (>99%)

Kibble Constance Winifred Chorlton 8c 958

doesn't appear in either marriages or deaths under this name or on 1911 index?

Nicola'S Report 31 Mar 2011 12:47

Thanks, Rambling Rose.

No, the marriage is between KIBBLE and AUSTIN. All checked out, thank you.

And, unfortunately, that isn't his twin. Registration details don't match.

If you would be kind enough to try your eyes to find him on the 1911, that is the very last piece of this jigsaw. We know for sure that he's in the UK, probably in Manchester or Liverpool.

He signed up in 1914 and had a hard WWI, being invalided more than once.

I'll be back and forth to this thread during the day - 'day job' calls as well!

Hi Nicola, I have checked the 1911 index in , I think, every possible permutation of the name lol, using first, last and middle with variants and nothing!

The only other thing I can think of is to check the 1911 for all his relatives and see if he is with them, but totally mistranscribed?

Nicola'S

Nicola'S Report 2 Apr 2011 20:05

Have returned, at last.

He's not with any of his relatives as per Rambling Rose's kind suggestions, see below:-

He's not with his papa who is living alone as an Actor in London.

He's not with his mama who is living with her lover and love child in the North.

His grandmother, who he lived with after his parents separated, died way back.

He goes to WWI in 1914, but is proving VERY ELUSIVE in the 1911.

Anyone else up for this one tonight, please??

Thanks in advance.

Nicola the index is free to search but unless you can come up with any other name that could be him I don't think he is there...looking at Archibald ( and variants) without a surname or date he doesn't show up...ditto Alvaro...

Hervey/ Kibble etc without a first name doesn't help either..

Incidently unless anyone else has, i couldn't see Louis Hervey Kibble on 1911 either?

it IS possible he just went down the pub and didn't get included lol...

Rambling Report 2 Apr 2011 20:23

There is an Archibald Kibble in passenger lists...I don't have access but it might be worth checking?

Nicola'S

Nicola'S Report 2 Apr 2011 21:22

Aha, that's cos LOUIS HERVEY KIBBLE changed his name to LOUIS KEANE after a scandalous divorce case!!

I should have mentioned that. Apologies.

Staffslass Report 2 Apr 2011 21:27

There is A H Kibble in passenger list has no age listed is going to New Zealand as a farmer on his own dated 1910 will go and check again.

S

Edit. record states Mr A H Kibble from London to Wellington New Zealand on 5 August 1910 single farmer.

No age or other details.

Nicola'S

Nicola'S Report 2 Apr 2011 21:29

Sadly, none of the Kibbles on the passenger lists is him.

Although I didn't expect it to be.

Prior to being called up for WWI, he is working for a chemist in the North as an apprentice I think.

He would have been 17 in 1911 - and probably living not far from his wife to be, see above. MAY MOUAT.

I just wish I was better at the 1911 because this is really annoying me now! That usually does the trick and makes me find my ancestor, but this one is still eluding me . . .

Anyone? Please?

Rambling

Rambling Report 2 Apr 2011 22:23

There's only two, possibly 3, Herbert Taylors in the right area and likely age for a chemist on the 1911 might be worth looking at them, see if they are at work and if Archibald is with ?

Nicola'S

Nicola'S Report 2 Apr 2011 23:20

Please see Mary's kind post above on 25th March with reference to his employer before WWI, one HERBERT TAYLOR in Liscard, Cheshire.

I'm not very good with the 1911 but I have tried to find this HERBERT TAYLOR in the hope that our man may be with him but hopelessly transcribed.

Can sks PLEASE see what they can do for me with the 1911 and this HERBERT TAYLOR who is presumably a Chemist of some sort?

I may not be able to get back to this tonight but will deff be on again tomorrow.

Thank you
