Does anyone know of a Micharel Dodd/I believe he is a relation.

patchem Report 27 Mar 2011 07:38

Have you looked on genes to see who has them in their trees?
It will be better if you actively look for connections, not expect them to come to you.
Similarly with Michael (?) Dodd. Put the name in the search boxes and see who has got him, make contact with them, and see what happens. (You have not put any year or place for Michael Dodd, it is unlikley that anyone who knows about the 'correct' Michael Dodd will read your query, so you have to look for them).

Rhian Report 13 Apr 2011 19:32

Thanks for the info about Florence Mabel Dodd. It's spot on.Thank you so much. All I need now is to find the sons!As for Beatrice Harriet Adams, not a trace.Newland is in Monmouthshire in the forest of Dean not far from Redbrook.I know she moved to Scotland for a while, but can't find her on the 1911 census. She was born in Redbrook in 1880.
I have a prayer book that was hers.It says inside,In memory of St Mary's Church Monmouth,Thursday March 18th 1897 from William Neville. I assume he was the vicar ond she was leaving the district.I wrote to the church, but no reply.Any help in tracing this lady would be fab.I'm almost sure she became a Gardiner. Thanks to all of you out there.

Have you got the birth certificates, or checked in free bmd for their correct birth dates and possible middle names for them all? This can help in establishing deaths.
If this is Harold's birth, he was actually born in 1902:
Births Sep 1902
Dodd Harold Pontypridd 11a 627

?
Harold Dodd
Death Registration Month/Year: 1923
Age at death (estimated): 20
Registration district: Pontypridd
Inferred County: Glamorganshire
Volume: 11a
Page: 677

patchem

patchem Report 17 Apr 2011 16:59

Middle names do help:
Births Dec 1905
Dodd Claude Eugene Pontypridd 11a 666

Claude E Dodd
Death Registration Month/Year: 1921
Age at death (estimated): 15
Registration district: Pontypridd
Inferred County: Glamorganshire
Volume: 11a
Page: 606

patchem

patchem Report 17 Apr 2011 17:04

And again:
Births Jun 1910
DODD John James Pontypridd 11a 675

John James Dodd
Birth Date: 8 Apr 1910
Death Registration Month/Year: 1981
Registration district: Lewes
Inferred County: East Sussex
Volume: 18
Page: 1287

You need to get some birth and death certificates to confirm correct people, and names of informants, to help with marriages.
