--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HEPPENSTALL Horace Pemberton Weobley 6a 1233
PEMBERTON Alice M Heppenstall Weobley 6a 1233

If you mother came from Hereford maybe this is his marriage?
By purchasing the marriage cert you would have a rough Idea when he was born

Looking at the trees it would seem that David has already got William Heppenstall and Edith Metterick.

As the spelling of Mettrick and Metterick differ that might be why the two siblings were not found before .....well spotted jax.........

..however its now time for a drink of tea......a cake .......and see whats on the box....good luck with your search David -jle

I accept that David is trying to find Horace 1917 but I would say that in order to find him it is better to establish who he is first of all.
It may be that David will have to find relatives of Horace in order to move forward. -jl

David is trying to find Horace not his father

jax

Janet

Janet Report 26 Mar 2011 19:33

David I think it might be worth getting the birth cert which Mary has written out. That way you could find out who his father is.
If his nickname was Yorkie then I would say that he is 99% Yorkshire as it is given to anybody and everybody outside of Yorkshire, particularly when they are in the forces.-j

The only Rose E Heppenstall I found was also born 1890s so I doubt very much if she would have married Horace born 1917 but it does'nt matter as David said he did'nt marry his mother

The only thing jax, is that a 1917 birth would figure getting married at 21 in 1938 but its a possibility.
I tend to think of young boys on the 1911 census not getting further in life than WW1-jl

Not saying that you have the wrong information but this family does seem to tick a few boxes.
Right surname
Right area
Person with the name that you are looking for ....but way out on date.....20 years across....jl

Theresa Heppenstall Wife 57 Sheffield married 35 years

Ernest Heppenstall 14 Single
Horace Heppenstall 12

The death I posted is the only one that would fit as there was one born 1910 and he died in 1968 and one in 1907 that died in 1961....no others born in that time frame

The death posted earlier could possibly be his as it's in the London area. but the age doesn't fit with the one born 1917.

How do you know that the one born 1917 is the correct Horace?

ChristineinPortugal Report 26 Mar 2011 18:03

There's a possible marriage in Sheffield which can be found on the site I mentioned above but you would only know if it was the correct one by buying the cert.
