Alfreds not Alberts x

Well, i have searched the census for Ellen and Alfred in 1901,and nothing, there is a marriage between Alfred Haworth and Ellen ROSE in Preston in March 1886 ( 8e 724 ), checked to see if Ellen was married before but drew a blank there too, There was an Alfred Haworth and Ellen in Blackburn, but she was Parker.

Does it say if the Haworths were joining family ? they only arrived a week or so before the sisters !

lancashireAnn, the Roach/Gill list is the right one,(William is my Gdad) we have a copy of their marriage cert for December 1853. i've said before, it doesn't help having 100 rellies sharing a dozen names !!!, and common as muck at that . lol mary.

I put the 2 sets up just as a ref point really so that anybody searching could see that there were 2 families with similar names and matching ages. Our ancestors could be rather consistent in their choice of names!

Alfred (father) aged 31,EDIT Alfred aged 39 in 1901, Alfred (son) aged 4.

The writing is poor but it looks as if the family had been in the USA previously.
May be they married there.

Ann and Bridget travelled a year later in 1902.
