Searching for parents of Arthur Ernest Maidwell born in Dec 1883 in Stamford Hill, Middlesex. I believe the mother was Mary Ann Maidwell...... father seems to be missing.

Would also like to go further back and find their parents.... Mary Ann's mother may have been another Mary.

Is this him? where did the Ernest come from?

Glitter Baby: I have a copy of his marriage certificate to Minnie Thompson on April 5, 1909 in Islington, London.

Patchem: He married Minnie Thompson.

Ozibird: I believe that the census of 1891 shows Arthur age 8, his mother Mary age 30 and Mary's mother Mary Brady age 70..... perhaps living as servants in the home of Charles Smith. No fathers around....... OR....
Perhaps Charles Smith is the father....... hum....... could be....... don't know.

Jax: Well.... I can't at this moment figure out where i got the Ernest.
He did name his son Arthur Ernest.... but i thought I had seen it on some of his documents as well. Right now.... checking what i have.... I am not seeing the Ernest. Perhaps my error.

I'm trying to find his father and possible siblings.... also his grandparents etc.

I knew his children Annie D. and Arthur E.

And ... I did view the marriages on p. 2. Was a bit confused about the layout....
I'm going to cut/paste one of them and see if someone will explain it.

Also... what do you think about the Jessie Catherine and the Jessie Caroline mix ups? I believe they are two different people. I have viewed original documents where names were clearly hand written. Someone in one of my threads thinks it may be one person.... hum.....

I don't know how long you've been doing this family history lark, but one thing most people find out quite quickly is that names are not set in concrete. People make mistakes all the time for all kinds of reasons. For example, has anybody written your name with the wrong spelling? I get it all the time and yet it is a fairly straight-forward name.

I think Jessie Catherine & Jessie Caroline are the same person.
