Hello again.......what makes you give Eliza Jane Rivers as his mother? Could either William senior or Eliza Jane have been married more than once? Does it say bachelor and spinster on the certificate?

Do you have the family on 1911 census?

Did William junior go to the first world war?

1901 census has William junior aged 11....methinks he may have been born Rivers. Also there is a big age gap between William senior and Eliza Jane.

I am trying to find the birth of my grandfather william pearce, i have his marriage certificate and his death certificate but alas no birth certificate.
He married a lady by the name of florence ada powis on the 7th oct 1933 aged 44 years and he died 5th dec 1942 aged 54 years.His mothers name was eliza jane rivers and his fathers name was william as well who was a licenced victualler.His parents married in may 1891 at ALL SAINTS ROTHERHITHE william seniors father was called james pearce
Any help would be greatfully received as my father wants to get a head stone now we have found where he is buried but wants to get the dates correct.
