I just noticed there's a Queenie Blundell in the 1911 census

BLUNDELL QUEENIE 1904 7 South Stoneham Hampshire
BLUNDELL ARTHUR 1880 31
BLUNDELL SARAH 1883 28
BLUNDELL EMMA 1908 3
BLUNDELL ARTHUR 1910
BLUNDELL LIZZIE 1911 0

but still not in the births.

There's no Arthur Blundell + Sarah marriage ... oh, rats.

Marriages Mar 1907
BLUNDELL Arthur Alverstoke 2b 894
- there's a bride missing.

That Queenie must have been born before the marriage and took the surname Blundell after.

The missing bride:

CUNNINGHAM Sarah Alverstoke 2b 824 - mistranscribed

The birth:

Births Mar 1904
Cunningham Queenie May Alverstoke 2b 558

I hate to say it, but I've just ruled out Queenie May Blundell/Reeves.

Sorry!!!

If you're trying Reeves, who I really think is the likeliest candidate and a perfect match, it seems --

Don't forget to search at FreeBMD for the Reeves/Blundell births, and then search trees here for those names. There are GR members who have them and Queenie Blundell in their trees.

Ah -- in the PM I just got from you, you said you were in touch with people with Queenie in their trees.

Your Queenie? Can't tell whether you meant you were already in touch with people with your Queenie, and which one she is ...

Thank you all for your help,I think I will try Reeves as she lived in Essex.
Bye for now

What's needed is the real Queenie May Barker's birth certificate to see whether the exact date of birth matches the Queenie May Reeves death.

I've been chasing after the Blundell one but there's no record of any such person -- and no Blundell-Barker births either.

I had been looking at that one earlier Eyes need sorting I think lol

Even Orsett to Dorset is a trek but it fits in with the death too

This is the person who married Wright:

Births Sep 1900
Barker Queenie Pretoria M Orsett 4a 591

Easily ruled out.

Someone here at GR has a

Queenie Blundell 1905 Chrishall, Essex

in their tree. No such birth, though!

edit -- the same person and someone else have children of the Reeves-Blundell marriage in their tree.

You're in touch with the other person who has

Queenie Barker 1898 Wivenhoe, Essex,Engl...

in their tree?

There is this marriage

Name: Queenie M Blundell
Spouse: Bertie Reeves
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1928
Registration district: Saffron Walden
Registration county (inferred): Essex
Volume Number: 4a
Page Number: 1163

for which there is no Queenie M Blundell birth, and I also find no marriage of a Queenie M to a Blundell. There are 4 Reeves-Bundell births following that marriage (which should all be shown at FreeBMD).

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

Search for births surname Reeves, mother Bundell. Too recent to post here, for privacy reasons.

Did either of the married Queenie's have children, if so, their names might be a clue.

Gee

Gee Report 22 Apr 2011 18:45

You missed this bit:

She may have assumed her partners name or indeed changed her name

jax

jax Report 22 Apr 2011 18:44

Yes we have ancestry James so we know that as per the death I posted re Queenie P M Wright born c1901 ,but we all know that its only the informants word that the date is correct....I am not saying your one is incorrect but Extra middle name and year of birth not right it is questionable

jax

James

James Report 22 Apr 2011 18:42

as for what ginny says about maybe she never got married i have done a search for queenie m barker deaths 1916 - 2005

and the only one i came up with for her year of birth was her dying in 1993 in yorkshire she either lasted to 95 without ever marrying or she did get married personally i think she did marry

James

James Report 22 Apr 2011 18:38

There is always a possibility it could be wrong but you have to rule everything out, you said that she went down to dorset and the only queenie barker i could find that married in dorset was the one i found

if you have ancestry then you can search bmds from 1916 - 2005 and that can help to rule anything else out

Gee

Gee Report 22 Apr 2011 18:32

Queenie may not have married anyone!

She may have assumed her partners name or indeed changed her name

You need to get certificates to try and rule in or out, what is correct and what's not

jax

jax Report 22 Apr 2011 16:10

If that is her why the extra middle name??

Name: Queenie P M Wright
Death Registration Month/Year: 1961
Age at death (estimated): 60
Registration district: Thurrock
Inferred County: Essex
Volume: 4a
Page: 1113a

so age out by 3 years...yes the age could be wrong of course

jax

jax Report 22 Apr 2011 16:00

James how do you know that is the correct one please?
