I can't guarantee they married each other, just that they turn up on the same page.

You'd need to get the actual cert to be certain. John Holden is an Irish name as well as an English one, so don't get excited too early!

You know from your previous research that John's father's name is William, and presumably John's profession will be soldier.

If those details tally then it's likely you have the right couple, and you should get to find out the name and occupation of Maria's father

If they don't tally, then at least you've ruled out this line of enquiry.

John was a colour sargent in the royal surrey regiment, when they had my grand father william John Holden in Surrey, so I need his birth cert,
then the marriage? I guess.. it gets confusing with so many williams and Johns
So my grandfather William John holden
Great grand father John Holden
Great great grand father William Holden
Grand mother Magarett Ann Bishop nee Holden
Great Grand mother Maria Mc Nabb
Nothing else on maria side
Seems right

I assumed you already had the birth cert for William John - isn't that where you got Maria McNabb's name from?

No i got the details off the birth cert my uncle peter has and he will not let me see it now and will not talk about it, but it is from the birth cert of william, I then found out about Maria.
I need a copy as took only basic details as over 20years ago since I saw the cert same for my Grand mother Margarett Bishop.
