To MEgirl and Gai.
The information that you both have found fits with what i know.
Jessie Ainsworth Stark was my grandads sister.Jessie married a Frederick King in London and they had a daughter,Dorothy. After the untimely death of Fred jessie married George King in Brighton (uk).
The age difference you see is indeed correct George was much younger than his bride Jessie (lucky Jessie)
You have found where they went when they left England and what happened, thank you.
It appears that not so long after being back home in England George died.
If i pass my e-mail address to you are you able to e-mail me the information to me please, the newspaper report on Jessie`s death would be very interesting.
Also, how can i order a copy of Jessie`s death certificate from Austrilia ?

You also may be setting me in the right direction in finding Jessie`s
Brother and his wife who i think must have emmergrated from the UK as i cant see any record of them after marriage.
Regards,Kevin

Kevin, A tip for the future - give all the information you have at the beginning. It saves needless searching. I have been researching these details for hours today. We have been chasing down a son, who doesn't exist when all the time it was a very young husband.

The South Australian Birth, Marriage & Death Directory can help you with a copy of Jessie's death certificate - no online database. Go to http://www.familyhistorysa.info/births-marriages-deaths/ which will give you the details of how to apply for the certificate.

For the newspaper article go to http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/result?q=Novis&|-decade=191&|-year=1914&|-monthInYear=February|monthInYear% click on heading Sudden Death, you will go the the story on the next page and it has a print option on left hand side.

Cheers.

ah I went the wrong way (added hours on instead of subtracting them!)

yes sure, no problem. happy to help if I can.

p.s. my procrastinating over dinner has paid off - hubby's going out to get Chinese ;) yay!

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 7 May 2011 11:49

We had Chinese tonight - I knew if I stayed on here long enough the master would get the hint :-)

Gai Report 7 May 2011 12:59

Why doesn't that ever work for me as I reckon I could be lying on the floor dying and I'd still get the "whats for dinner". I only have to mention the words family tree and they eyes roll and the ear plugs go in.

We had lamb chops, potato bake and crunchy coleslaw for dinner.

Gai Report 9 May 2011 07:59

MeGirl,

I spent a couple of hours searching this morning and I found a Chas W Stark but couldn't find his wife. Then I discovered that Kevin has another thread and there are a number of replies on it in regard to Walter Charlie Stark.

So I'm not searching anymore as they were all looking at American records which I don't have access to.
