You say two Hugh & Mary.s nee Cambell each with a son Hugh born c 1898 but i would disagree with that ,as I have said the Mary born c1840 would be too old to have a child in the 1890.s |

You have got the right marriage for the ones you asked for however if your ancestor was Hugh born 1897/8 then think you have gone back to the wrong Hugh and Mary. |

Theres a birth for a Hugh McDonald born 6th aug 1897 in 5 McLeans Buildings Port Glasgow Road Greenock mother mary nee Campbell however they married 3rd Jan 1881 Port Glasgow BUT your Mary & Hugh married in April 1881. |

On SP i have the marriage of Hugh MacDonald to Maria Gracie Paul Ferguson in February 1920, his parents are Hugh MacDonald and Mary Campbell. He was 22 when he married Maria. |

Are you sure she had a child in 1898?? she would have been 56/7 years old .rather late for child bearing |

Mary was a dressmaker when she married Ferguson then when she married MacDonald she was a tobacconist. |
