Find Ancestors

looking for any info on my grandads family,john jones b1879 st mary stafford, his father was george jones b c1855 and his mother was annie welsh (walsh) grandad john also had a brother james,he was about 4 yrs younger,,any info on either of them would be more than welcome,,many thanks,alan alcock

Where did you get the name Walsh/Welsh for the MMN?

Please post on here the 1881 census for the family........I assume you've got the info, as the census is free

Was the mother's first name actually Mary?

hi ginny,,yes john did have a brother,,james,4 or 5 yrs younger,,,i'm told he also had a sister,,nelly? (nellie pos helen) not too sure about her,,mom always said that her aunt nelly wanted mom and her sister ivy to go and live with her in usa,,san francisco,dont know how true it is,,,i was also told that grandad john used to visit the cottage homes in wednesfield staffs,,dont know if he visited james and nelly there as there is no sign of his parents in the 1901 census,,,ah well maybe one day i'll find out,,,,take care ,alan ;-)

When was the last time you knew where John was? you mention the US....did he go to live there?

Was he just John or did he have a middle name and was he born in Wolverhampton?

annie was born 1862 walsall area,,last time i saw grandad john was 1958,when he died,dont think he went to the us,and he didnt have a middle name,,i've got all his war records from ww1,,he was awarded the military medal so it says on his records,, oooooooooh that pic lol,,,,,haha

Is that the correct marriage that Flick posted above....if it is Mary Annie cant have been born in 1862?

If we can pin her down it might lead us to John

cant see them in the 1901 though.....and naughty Alan, you were out by 10 years with grandads death!

grandad died 1958,,,his wife was elizabeth,,(maria elizabeth) always known as lizzie,,gran died 1964,,,both wolverhampton,,,,,, :P

Im wondering if George died and thats why I cant find the family in 1901?
