	Why not get the birth certificate Births Jun 1862 MANNING George Daniel Shoreditch 1c 205 and if father George is a bootmaker you have the right one, and you have his mother's name. It certainly looks like that's him.

	Been trying to find her ( Catherine Manning)on the 1841 census. So far no luck. Although according to the census it states relation to head of family.....in that case he is Williams brother ????? Regards Vera

	So you really need your George's birth certificate. Although there's really no reason to think that a family in Hackney with a son George born in Bethnal Green is yours. The George Sr in that household is a cook. What was your George Sr's occupation on George Jr's marriage certificate please? You're looking it up so I won't post it here -- George who married Clara is in the 1891 as a printer's compositor, no kids.

	You need the birth certificate of a child of George Sr and Mary Ann to get her surname. Too many possible marriages 1851-1855ish to guess.
