Find Ancestors

Thank you again Mary, thats what I thought. Nancy's grandson Patick Collins is living in NZ aged 81 his father Daniel jnr 1904 is the last child from Nancy and Daniel snr marriage I have made contact but he knows very little

I was thinking the same but maybe they had more children who died.

thank you Mary. If Nancy Driscoll married Daniel Collins in1872 it seems unusual don't you think for their first child Ann to be born in 1899 then 3 more up to 1904 I know she died of cancer in1907 aged 33 what do you think about this 7 year gap?

Found it all on Ancsetry,no she isnt on census with parents.
There is a Ann as a servant in 1891 but says she was born Notting Hill!!

Nancy was usually used in place of Ann.

1901 says Annie wife of David/Daniel a carman born St George in The East.

According to deathin 1907 she was 33 so = 1883/4

Ann Driscoll O/N/D 1873 St George in The east. 1c 401

1881 St Elizabeth Home.(Training school for girls going into service) / orphanage.
Portobello Rd Notting Hill.
Ann driscoll born St george in the east 1874 scholar.

This could be Nancy don't you think.

yes I have found both in the1901 census daniel is writen as david and nancy as used signed her name as ann?. in the marriage records I can see daniel and nancy in 1892 but no where else

Have you found Daniel and Nancy in 1901 are you sure its the same Daniel??

Daniel Collins 1871 I have found he's first marriage to Nancy Driscoll in 1892 she died in 1907 aged 33 can anyone find her on a birth or census under her maiden name of Driscoll :-)

I agree with you Mary, that all the people on the Ancestry Public trees who have Daniel marrying Ellen Rose Tuck are wrong (and are following back on the wrong family) As you say, surely, she was the one who died in 1875.

I haven't seen any records where it actually says the Ellen in 1911 was infact Ellen Rose Tuck,on her marriege to Buckminster its only Ellen and to Daniel its only Ellen.

Ellen and john george had son John george1902 died 1975 where is he 1911.
John George senior was addmited to infirmary 28/7/1911 so where was he 1911.He died 24/2/1912

Daughter Eliza Sarah Buckminster born 1894 married John Dalton a carman 26/2/1911 so she is with him.

Now do you see why I'am thinking that the info is a bit muddled and doesn't add.
So where are the children of Daniels first marriage and where are Ellen and John George Buckminster?????????

Working back from Michael's father and uncle, Martin b.1911 and John b.1913 - their births were registered at West Ham - both with MMN Tuck. So it looks as though the 1911 census we're looking at is the right one.

I don't understand where Anna and Ellen are in 1901 though.

And, as you say Mary, where on earth are the Buckminsters on the 1911!?

There's an Ellen Tuck birth Jan-Mar 1873 London Surrey 1d 210
I believe Bermondsey would have come under Surrey.

Then, ignoring the Bermondsey part, there's an Ellen Tuck on the 1881 census - born 1872 in Shadwell, Middlesex - father Robert Tuck - dock labourer.

Can't see her in 1891 anywhere.

Re above info,
another tree has these people having Daniel 1872 died 1914.
he married Esther and they were still together in 1911,they also had son Daniel 1900.
Address 166,Old church Rd Stepney.

If Michael could give us everything he has maybe we could help.

I think there are is some confusion with this family and until we can get some true facts we are going round in circles.

I think they have a tree on Ancestry with parents of daniel 1872 as Michael 1852 Whitechapel and mum Annie 1852.

1891 Shadwell D 7 > 9
Michael collins 1852 coal porter
Annie 1852
Daniel 1872 ropeworker,so that fits with Stevadore in 1911.
They also had son martin Collins @ 1888.

I can't find another Ellen Tuck born @ 1873 other than the one I posted earlier that died age 2!!

Where are all the Buckminsters in 1911,I can't find even one.

Hi Michael, Can you let us know the name and occupation of Daniel's father - given on his 1913 marriage certificate.

Just trying to clarify when and where Daniel was born.

So Anna 1899 and Ellen 1900/1 are Buckminsters?
Where are they on 1901 census as they are not with Ellen and John George.

I wonder when Daniel changed his proffesion from carman to stevadore.
Where was Ellen's 1st husband in 1911?

Is this Ellen related to your Ellen

So how do you know he had a Daniel and Annie from his first marriage ,Have you picked them up on Births/census??

the children are buckminsters except elizabeth age 2 she is daniels and ellens it seemed they tried to hide from relatives and yes it was john george but known as george

elizabeth 1909 was the first child born to daniel and ellen then came my dad martin 1911 then john 1913 my name is michael collins married to lorraine keeley :-)
